Saving the money and living with less!
Recently we made the complete switch to cloth diapering for Gwen. She actually just turned one year old today (Happy birthday little lady). I will be the first to say that switching to cloth was not the most fun thing to do. It has been a true learning experience. I have been slowly adding to the collection of fluff over the past nine months. I have probably only spent about $150 on 27 diapers and I believe 40 inserts. I have bought new, second hand, and even diapers that needed repair. There are a good many resources both online and in person to get you started on cloth you just have to figure things out in your community. There are even cloth diaper banks! These banks are amazing, you fill out an application which normally asks general financial questions and a few about your preferences and the child(ren) you are currently diapering.
Anyways along with cloth diapering we are slimming down what we own, partially since there is an upcoming post wide yardsale where we are living. Mostly we need to slim down our belongings because we lack real organization room. Our children have an over flow of toys in their playroom and we honestly have an over flow of clothing since we were living the past six months without a washer and dryer in home (a story for another day).
So since we are slimming down our belongings I am also having to organize our things. It has been a task with a four year old and toddler but it is slowly getting finished. I will have photos posted soon once I actually have before and after photos to post.
Along with these changes we have been making healthy choices in eating, staying out of those pesky middle grocery store aisles as often as we can! I have been struggling with my weight since having my first daughter and it has worsened since having my second. I do not in any way blame them for what is happening to my body. I love my babies dearly as you will soon find out. But the weight has got to go!
Welcome!
A little about me, I have two daughters Jackie and Gwen, one furbaby Morgen and I am married to John who is in the US Air Force. We have been married for just over three years now and currently reside in Savannah, GA.
